Adam Lambert, considered by many to be the favorite for American Idol champ, lost by a very small margin of votes to Kris Allen last night. But Adam’s not crushed–far from it. He’s hit the ground running, anxious to begin his new career.
“It’s not really about what happens tonight, it’s about tomorrow,” said Lambert.
“If there’s anything that can come from this experience, I hope that all the fans out there can pick up that even if you’re really different, there’s a way to get along with each other.”
Lambert joins Clay Aiken and Jennifer Hudson, among others, in becoming an Idol runner-up whose fame may eclipse that of the winner. After all, it was Adam’s name on Katy Perry’s cape, not Allen’s.
“For me it was like, okay, we know it’s going to be close. Whatever happens, happens. We made it this far. We got to do a really cool finale, and we’re both gonna get to do great things in the future,” Lambert said.
