Amy Winehouse celebrated winning a songwriting “oscar” with her mum and dad last night. But the troubled singer didn’t make the Ivor Novello songwriting awards ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House hotel, until after her victory had been announced. Her dad, Mitch - who recently called for his daughter to be forcibly detained for mental health treatment, or sectioned - collected the award on her behalf saying his crack-addicted daughter was “getting better.” Talk about mixed parenting message!
