Beyonce fans aren’t so smart says new research

12369446032273836171_fdfef704d6-200x260 A study by PhD student Virgil Griffith has revealed that music fans who listen to artists such as Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z are among the least intelligent people around.

These fans racked up ratings well below the American SAT exam average. Dumb, but not the dumbest! That dubious honor is reserved for fans of rapper Lil Wayne who came in rock bottom. On the other hand, listeners of Beethoven are the brainiest of all, while U2 and Radiohead fans also display high intelligence.

Griffith analyzed the artists students listed on social networking websites — then compared that to their test scores.

The study, which can be found at Griffith’s site Musicthatmakesyoudumb found that those American students who prefer indie music are generally smart — but pop, rock and gospel fans rank at the lower end of the scale.
