Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has got herself a bodyguard who answers the door at her Blackburn, West Lothian home.
Yesterday the strain of her new found celebrity hiot Boyle, who attended a church service without smiling for waiting photographers.
TV bosses say the Boyle Bolunce was behind the show pulling in a massive 13.5million viewers on Saturday night — 2million more than the previous week’s launch in which she starred.
An insider said: “The coverage Susan got last week was incredible. She was on all the front pages and on every TV show, it really gave the ratings a boost.”
Meanhwile it mereged that Boyle is a serial talent competition entrant, who usually sings I Dreamed A Dream and Whistle Down The Wind (the song she plans to sing in round two of the comptetion.
Susan has a host of celebrity fans — including actress Demi Moore and hubby Ashton Kutcher — and now her idol wants to duet with her.
Susan told the BGT judges she wanted to be like West End star Elaine Paige during her audition.
Last night Elaine said Susan was “a role model for everyone who has a dream”.
pledged fame would not change her, but she said: “I won’t be lonely any more.”
Meanwhile thousands of punters are splashing out big money on red-hot favourite Susan to win.
William Hill has taken more than 3,000 bets since the church volunteer’s performance. Spokesman Graham Sharpe said: “Around 93 per cent of the Britain’s Got Talent bets we’ve had have been for Susan Boyle.” He said it was “pretty much unprecedented” for one reality TV contestant to “monopolise” the betting — but said it may change as others perform.
ITV last night said Susan’s minder was not a “bodyguard” but a member of the production crew.
