Carla Bruni lets it all hang out on late night TV

carla-bruni-in-primo-piano-2A relatively PG feature about the backstory of France’s first lady Carla Bruni was aired to the French population on Thursday evening. The 75-minute television special, by filmmaker George Scott is expected to hit British TV later this year.

The model-turned-singer-turned-first-lady runs the show, performing several original compositions at her apartment in the 16th arrondissement and conducting interviews in both French and English, while President Sarkozy appears only briefly, provide shameless affection for his mate. Maybe the French Prez had a little stage envy?

[...] Carla Bruni, Italian pop star and serial celebrity-dater celebrated her first wedding anniversary to French President Nicholas Sarkozy last week. The couple, which married after 80 days of courtship, have outlasted the critics; most of whom centered on Sarkozy’s having just been divorced three months prior. Still, they wasted no time; Bruni promptly installed a recording studio in the Elysee Palace and set up shop. It’s hard work being the world’s hottest politico-spouse, and one imagines even harder to give up past flames like Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger for some boring President. Well, Musictoob congratulates the couple, and officially notes that it’s despicable a nude photo of Ms. Bruni made it to Chrystie’s auction house, and that it’d be even more despicable should more propagate and become freely available on the Internet or in commercial print. Happy 1st! [...]
