Kanye West is back. And we are glad. His new song is the hardest thing he’s done since Jesus Walks. And there’s not an autotuned vocal in sight.

She knows that, right? Or did director McG not tell her that. Still, it is the best song about masturbation ever. Is it me or is there something really embarrassing about the way this video seems to be saying, “Gosh, look at the funny Japanese people!” Poor shallow McG, never saw a surface he didn’t slide off. I have ne ver forgiven him of Charlie Angels. Incidentily, I met Kirtsen Dunst. She was smaller that you’d imagine and completely stoned. I am certain of it.

When I edited music magazines, I did not believe in “undiscovered bands” or “undiscovered records.” There were simply too many people in the music business whose livelihood depended on finding the next big thing and selling it. But sometimes music does fall through the cracks. So I am indebted to Danny Eccleston at Mojo magazine to pointing out the strange psychedelic acoustic stylings of Rodriguez’s Cold Fact LP. Check some more after the jump.

This documentary, that hit a few arthouse cinemans this week, is about the Bill Withers, awesome 70s soul singer who hasnt sung for 25 years. If you want to hear one of Withers timeless songs, and witness greatness up close, see footage of him performing Ain’t No Sunshine live in a tiny TV studio after the jump. WIthers’ band demonstrate a lightness of touch rarely seen, even back in 1972.

Just because he’s dead doesn’t mean Jacko has to stop releasing music. Over the weekend, this alleged duet with Lenny Kravitz, “Another Day,” began circulating; shortly after Jackson’s death, Kravitz told Spinner the two had collaborated on a song.
