Demi Moore prevents suicide

Demi Moore’s participation in an online chat has helped prevent a woman from committing suicide.

The online discussion prompted police to do to the aid of a Californian woman who was having suicidal thoughts. Police received a phone call early on Friday morning from a person in Dallas who was tipped off to a supposed suicide attempt through the social networking site Twitter.

Demi, a popular celebrity Twitterer, was involved in a discussion on the site that began when a user sent the actress what appeared to be suicidal notes.

Police made immediate contact with a 48-year-old female resident of San Jose, California, and transferred her to a local hospital for “psychiatric evaluation”.

Police said there were no injuries.
