Lindsay Lohan and Lady Gaga could soon be making sweet music together.
Über-producer Rodney Jerkins says he’d like the odd couple to hit the studio together.
“I can pair them up,” reckons Jerkins, whose recently produced Gaga’s “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé. “I would love it. I would love to see what could happen.”
And get this: Jerkins seriously believes that Lohan can still be the next big pop goddess…
“If she stays focused, I think she has what it takes,” Jerkins said at a Grammy awards party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “I’ve talked to her, and I said, ‘You’ve got what it takes. I really believe in you.’
“I’ve seen a lot of people questioning actresses who have wanted to become pop stars, and they don’t have it,” Jerkins said. “I believe she has it, something deep down. I’ve listened to her in the past, and I think there’s something there. It just needs to be pulled out.”
Advice to Lohan: call Jerkins quick and get, err, “pulled out”. It’ll be better than taking your clothes off for a living.
Jerkins has produced for Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and many others, and has previously paired Ciara and 50 Cent, Whitney Houston and George Michael, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z for duets – though the latter was obviously a no-brainer. Does his latest idea simply have no brains?
Whatever, it could be a big 2010 for Jerkins. He has recently been tipped to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol. The R&B producer drew the attention of the show’s makers while appearing as a judge on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ MTV reality show, “Starmakers.”
“He’s very Simon-esque,” said a source close to American Idol. We think that’s meant as a compliment.
