Lady GaGa has knocked the singer of the lamest Leonard Cohen cover ever, Alexandra Burke, off the top of the UK charts. GaGa, otherwise known as Stefani Joanne Germanotta, starts this week at number one in the British single charts.
The 22-year-old songwriter – who is a protégé of rapper Akon – has written for Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls and New Kids on the Block. Somehow the blonde New Yorker still has plenty of lo-fi credentials left and people falling over themselves to get a piece of her cool trail, including Cristina Aguilera, who has been accused of copying Lady GaGa’s look.
