Jewel out of Dancing With The Stars

After trying her hardest to stay in, Jewel has doctor’s orders to leave Dancing with the Stars. Why? She has stress fractures in both of her tibias. The popular TV dance show must be dangerous because she’s not the only contestant with an injury. Access Hollywood hostess Nancy O’Dell is also out with an injury – torn cartilage in her knee. Jewel notes in her blog that her doctor told her “that I had to not only stop dancing, but stop walking and use crutches!!” Sure Lil’ Kim didn’t kneecap her backstage? Jewel’s injury is apparently typical of athletes that step up their training and is caused by fatigue and excessive strain. But although Jewel is upset the injuries shouldn’t cause any long-term damage. She even has hopes for the future. “I hope I will be able to come back and compete on the show another season after my injury heals and get the chance to team up with Dmitry once again and show America our cha-cha,” wrote the singer.
