Johnny Depp yesterday recorded a guitar part for ex Pogue Shane McGowan’s charity record. The track is a reworking of Screamin Jay Ha wkins’ 1956 hit I Put A Spell On You. Proceeds from the song will go to the charity Concern Worldwide.
Billed as an alternative to Simon cowell’s celeb-studded Helping Haiti, currently number one in the UK charts, McGowan’s song features the talents of Nick Cave, Primal Scream singer Bobby Gillespie, former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock, Pretenders star Chrissie Hynde, ex-Clash guitarist Mick Jones and Paloma Faith.
