"Musictoob serves up juicy tidbits from the music scene" - The Wall Street Journal
A Boston songwriter is suing Jon Bon Jovi for $400 billion. Samuel Bartley Steele, 37, is mad as all hell because he thinks the Jovi stole the lyrics and chorus to his song ‘(Man, I Really) Love This Team’, and then used them for the hit ‘I Love This Town’. Screw the town and the team both – I love this guy. $400 billion? “I know I’m the little fish and they’re the big fish, but they fucked with the wrong piranha,” Steele said to the Boston Herald. Steele is the frontman for his band, the Chelsea City Council. The way he sees it, Jon Bon Jovi either got given a copy of (Man I Really) Love This Team, or else heard Steele busking outside Fenway Park while the star was campaigning for John Kerry in 2004. Whoever’s the hell song it is, it’s nothing to be proud of. That’s why Steele was busking in the first place and that’s why Bon Jovi continue to represent musical vacuity. [Musictoob fact: Jon Bon Jovi likes to drink white wine with ice in it. True fact.]
