Waking Up in Vegas singer Katy Perry’s been forced to reschedule a show at the Santa Barbara Bowl because of the unruly wildfire dubbed the “Jesusita Fire.”
“I’m so bummed as I have been looking forward to this particular homecoming the whole tour,” Perry wrote on her blog.
Perry, emotional and shaken, is moving May 9th’s performance at the Bowl to August 30th.
An official release reads “The decision to reschedule came after evaluating the current conditions and not wanting to impact fire resources, as well as the air quality warning that is currently in place.”
The blog post was accompanied by a photo a friend sent to the singer depicting palm trees enveloped by fire and billowing smoke. “Here’s a picture a friend sent from their backyard…gah,” Perry wrote.
“What’s most important right now is fighting the fires that threaten my hometown and saving Santa Barbara. Naturally, I am very upset but I understand the circumstances.”
Katy continued: “everyone please say a prayer for my hometown of Santa Barbara.”
