Lady Gaga gets her own $ currency

Ok, it’s an avant garde art stunt, but US based artist Craig Gleason has drawn Gaga’s face in some of her zaniest outfits directly onto the portrait of George Washington on US dollar bills.

Gleason’s ‘art’ may be questionable, but the savvy scribbler is selling each of these dollar bills for $15 a time. That’s 1400% profit.

Except, it’s illegal. US law states: “Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”

Oh dear. Gleason may need your real dollar bills soon…
