We all know families are dysfunctional but this takes the biscuit. Michael Jackson’s family are outraged that Oliver! star Mark Lester is claiming that he is the biological father of Paris Jackson.
They say that Lester, who starred as Oliver in the multi award winning 1968 musical movie, is making an attempt to grab some of the Jackson millions – with his genes.
Lester, who had been friends with Jackson since 1981, claims he gave the singer three samples of his sperm because Jackson was desperate to be a father. Months later, Paris was born to Debbie Rowe.
Lester belives 11 year old Paris closely resembles his 15 year old daughter Harriet. He also thinks he could be the father of 12 year old Prince Michael too.
Jackson family lawyers strenusouly deny his claims.
Lester is godfather to Prince, Paris and Blanket and is angry that he has been denied acces to his godchildren since Jackson’s death on June 25th.
The 51 year old Lester, who has four children and lives in the UK, told reporters: “It’s been a secret for so long. In 1996, Michael asked me if I would give him my sperm and I said yes. It was a gift to him, no money was paid, it was something I was honoured to do. He wanted children so badly.
“With Michael’s mother Katherine now their legal guardian it’s like the kids are being isolated. Up until Michael’s memorial I was in touch with them on a weekly basis.
“I’m the godparent to them and Michael was godparent to all my four kids. Our two families spent a lot of time together, and had a lot fun together.
“Now I’m not able to have any communication with the children. My repeated phone calls aren’t returned and emails go unanswered.”
Lester says he is happy to take a paternity test to prove he is Paris’s biological father.
“I do feel a definite bonding with Paris and I think there’s a definite possibility that she’s part of me. I want to have contact with her, Prince and Blanket regardless of whether any or all of them are mine. I think it’s cruel that I’ve now been excluded.”
