Pete Doherty cancels London shows due to “arm injury,” plans drug duet with Amy Winehouse

A needle accidentally fell into his arm? That’s the best guess we can come up with for why Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty canceled three gigs this weekend at the Rhythm Factory in London. Doherty phoned the venue up right before he was supposed to take the stage on Saturday night, telling the promoter he couldn’t make it due to an arm injury. In related news, Doherty plans to team up with fellow junky Amy Winehouse to record a Babyshambles tune about—you guessed it—drugs. The injured rocker and currently beach-bound singer will get all Sonny and Cher on us with “I Wish,” a song with lines such as “I’m pipin’ almost ever night” and “I wish to God but I just been stabbed.” In an attempt to prevent teenagers from looking up to the drug use of stars like Winehouse and Doherty the British government has started a million pound campaign to warn about the dangers of cocaine. The campaign is fronted by “Pablo The Drug Mule Dog.” Personally, Musictoob thinks some of those frightening photos of Winehouse and Doherty are a much more effective deterrent than a talking dog.

[...] Pete Doherty just gave an interview to Heat magazine about how he manages to score with ladies of the Kate Moss calibre. Apparently, Doherty’s rules of attraction have nothing to do with his erudite and intelligent character and everything to do with his general gorgeousness. Oh, and his sense of high fashion. Naturally. [...]
