"Musictoob serves up juicy tidbits from the music scene and beyond" - The Wall Street Journal
The lovely PJ Harvey is back and Musictoob is all the happier. Okay, so the Broadway production of the Ibsen play she’s written a score to has just been well and truly panned by the New York Times, but nobody’s blaming it on her. Critic Ben Brantley called the version of Hedda Gabler “one of the worst revivals I have ever, ever seen … with this Hedda it’s not just that everyone is bad,” Brantley wrote in the New York Times, “it’s that they’re all bad in their own, different ways”.
Yeah well. Go there for the music. That’s all we can say. PJ Harvey is touring with John Parish this spring, and releasing an album with the songwriter. It seems like her sights are set on lots of different things: “I’d like to do some comedy work,” she admitted. “I’d love to do a show with a stand-up comic and music.”
