Ringo Starr’s granddaughter rocks out in band, skintight leopardskin pants

While Bob Geldof’s daughter is getting secretly hitched in Las Vegas, other celebrity children are wielding guitars and storming the nearest stage. Veronica Avant A.K.A Tatia Starkey (that’s Ringo Starr’s granddaughter to you) was recently snapped thrumming a whacking great bass in her rock band, Belakiss. Mail Online reports that before performing at the Barfly venue in Camden, North London, at the weekend, Starkey, 22, told how her father, Zak Starkey, 42, tried to teach her piano as a child, but she would get bored and run away. Just like Ringo! The rock royal line of Belakiss is also added to by frontman, Ruari Meehan’s credentials. He is the son of The Shadows’ original drummer Tony Meehan. In spite of this line-up they have yet to land a record deal. The unsigned band’s MySpace page lists influences including Spiritualized, Spacemen 3, Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett and The Stone Roses. Bongtastic! No mention of The Beatles though. I mean, what rock band is influenced by them anyway?
