Looking like the poster boy for the “after” photo in a crystal meth warning ad might seem a whole job in itself, but it seems Shane Macgowan has other things to contend with. Like liver disease and a freaked-out dad. Maurice Macgowan, 78, urged his reckless rocker son to give up booze before it kills him. This comes just days after the ex-Pogues frontman revealed he had Hepatitis during a gig in Ireland. Medics warned Macgowan to stay sober for at least six months, but he fell off the wagon after only a few weeks. Dad Maurice said: “He has had a very good run on the drink but he must remember he is mortal.” (Is he though? The fact he is still standing after all these years is suspicious.)  “Shane must heed the doctor’s advice. He’s had scares before but hepatitis is serious.” Perhaps Pamela Anderson, that other Hep C celeb sufferer, could offer some hints to how to cope. Now there’s a meeting of minds.
