"Musictoob serves up juicy tidbits from the music scene" - The Wall Street Journal
Is being useless a crime now? It is if you are The Killers. The Las Vegas quartet are suing their former manager Braden Merrick and his company For The Future for being no good. The band are seeking”multi million dollar damages” because they allege he “missed concerts and lost touring revenues, and via the bungling of merchandising and promotional opportunities.”
The suit also claims he couldn’t sort out Visas for the band when they were headed off on tour and also took a “consulting” gig at Island Def Jam without consulting them.
The Killers suit may have something to do with Merrick’s own suit against the band and their new – presumably non useless – manager Robert Reynolds which says Merrick was unfairly ousted. He is seeking $16m from the band and from Reynolds in lost earnings.
