These shots of The Beatles relaxing between shows during a weeklong, stint at Weston Super-Mare in 1963 have never been seen before. Four weeks later She Loves You went to number one and Beatlemania began in Britain.
The pictures show George Harrison, 20, Paul McCartney, 21, John Lennon, 22, and Ringo Starr, 23, sunbathing and enjoying tea surrounded by disinterested holidaymakers - as well as Gerry and The Pacemakers, who were also on the bill at the Weston Super Mare Odeon. The pictures belong to Tony Barrow, once a beatles publicist. He bought them from an unknown photographer.
