Formed in 1979, Klymaxx was an all-female pop/R&B band from Los Angeles, California. Klymaxx’s “The Men All Pause” was released in the fourth album of the band, “Meeting in the Ladies Room”. Generally speaking, the song performed admirably on the chart (number 80 on Billboard Hot 100, number 9 on Hot Dance Club Play and number 5 on Hot Black Singles). It’s believed that the success of “The Men All Pause” helped “Meeting in the Ladies Room” reach Platinum status.
- “Walk Like an Egyptian” – The Bangles
Debuted as a pop-rock band, The Bangles recorded a couple of singles that reach the U.S. Top 10 in the 1980s including “In Your Room”, “Manic Monday”, “A Hazy Shade of Winter”, … But The Bangles’ “Walk Like an Egyptian” was widely known as the best hit from the band.
