Incompatible Tracks

To put it plainly, for smooth uploads, SoundCloud users must adhere to a number of rules. If you upload tracks that match all the rules of SoundCloud, the process should conclude in a blink of an eye. On the other hand, if you upload incompatible tracks, the “track is being processed” notification is going to surface.

Actions To Take

Wait

In the case that SoundCloud servers go haywire, you can do little from your end. The best course of action is to be patient, wait for the servers to come back on and upload your tracks. Aside from that, it won’t hurt to search for announcements from SoundCloud to stay up-to-date regarding the status of the servers.

Take Tracks Into Account

According to the rules of SoundCloud, tracks that exceed 5GB in size/6 hours and 45 minutes in length can’t be transcoded. Therefore, if you keep seeing the “track is being processed” notification, check out the size and length of your tracks. Depending on the situation, you should make use of tools at your disposal to reduce the size/shorten the length of your tracks. After you finish, upload the modified tracks then see the result.

Furthermore, it’s strongly recommended that you give the format of the tracks. In case you don’t know, SoundCloud only supports the following audio file formats AIFF, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR and WMA.

Delete And Re-upload

If none of the above works, delete the tracks and re-upload them at a later date. Sometimes, the process of uploading tracks may bug out but everything should return to normal soon.

Insights Into The Removal Of Tracks On SoundCloud

If SoundCloud believes that a track contains copyrighted material, it’s going to take appropriate action. Usually, SoundCloud use two methods to take down copyrighted works – manual and automatic.

  • The manual method involves the copyright owner submitting a takedown request to SoundCloud. SoundCloud’s copyright team reviews the request and the track is promptly removed if the takedown request is deemed valid.
  • The automatic method involves implementing a content identification system that scans uploaded tracks for copyrighted material. If a match is found, the system flags the track and takes it down without any intervention from the copyright owner.
